Project Managers Train With Experienced Leaders
Comments:

WestLake Training and Development wants to help future leaders learn from their superiors. Inspired by an article in Public Personnel Management, which indicated that training in conjunction with coaching can boost productivity by as much as 65 percent, WestLake has come up with a new Mentor program for project managers.
"The Mentor Program is designed to ensure that individuals and companies get the most out of project management training programs. The program is effective for entry level project managers as well as those seeking to gain or maintain their Project Management Professional Certification," explains WestLake president Mark Rogers.
The program will feature a combination of classroom based learning that teaches the basics of project management, followed by an apprenticeship during which students will work with their mentors on work-related projects. WestLake also does its best to fit around their clients’ schedules allowing some of the core training courses to be taught online. These virtual classes can be shorter in duration, or taught in half-day weekly sessions on Mondays and Saturdays so as to reduce the amount of time students spend away from work for training.
The time that students spend in the mentor program can also qualify towards hours for a Project Management Professionals certification or as Professional Development Units if the participants already have their certification.
WestLake has been in business since 1995 providing a variety of technical, Web development and Project Management and Leadership courses through instructor-led training. They have offices in New York, Atlanta, San Jose, Chicago, Dulles, and Washington and provide private development and project management training to not-for-profits, government agencies and corporations throughout the world.
