Comments:

Students planning to attend business training may be able to lessen the financial burden thanks to the Manhattan GMAT and Stacy Blackman Consulting. Together the two organizations are sponsoring the 2007 Beat the GMAT competition which is open to business students worldwide and will be giving away scholarship packages valued at about $9,000 U.S.
The Graduate Management Admissions Test, or GMAT, is used to determine a students ability to succeed in graduate business studies. GMAT scores are considered during the application process for most business schools around the world, particularly for admission to MBA programs.
"It is the hope of ‘Beat The GMAT' and our sponsors that the scholarships will be awarded to people upon whom this assistance in applying to business school will have a profound impact," explains Eric Bahn, Founder of Beat the GMAT.
Stacy Blackman explains her company's involvement adding, "Top business schools reject between 75 and 90 percent of their applicants, the majority of whom are more than qualified. With this scholarship program we are aiming to give those who would not otherwise have access to our resources an edge in the competitive admissions process."
To be eligible for the Beat The GMAT scholarships students must have completed college or be in their final year of schooling and planning to attend business school within the next two years. Applicants will be judged on a number of factors including their reasons for attending business school, their merit for the scholarship and their financial need.
A total of five prizes will be awarded in this year's Beat the GMAT competition ranging in value from $2,640 to $1,390. The first place winner will receive a $250 cash prize to cover the cost of GMAT Registration, one full Manhattan GMAT preparation course, and a four hour MBA consultation with Stacy Blackman.
"With Beat the GMAT's scholarship program, our company will be able to help a handful of deserving students achieve their score goals," says Manhattan GMAT CEO Andrew Yang, "We are proud to work with Beat the GMAT because it represents a community that believes, as we do, that mastering the content is the best way to prepare for the test."
